Progress Stats

I love having a visual record of my progress on my books. Every time I join NaNoWriMo, the charts that show my progress are one of the things that keep me going. I’ve been trying to figure out how to implement something like that on my website. First, I tried progress bars. While I liked being able to see that progress, the implementation was a bit clunky. I had to edit the code every time I wanted to update my totals. I also found it frustrating when I didn’t have a clearly-defined goal. I could say that I wanted to hit 100,000 words, but what about with editing? What about subsequent drafts where deleting sections of text might be more useful than adding words?

My solution is to use a Google Sheet to input the data that then gets turned into a chart that I can publish here. This will allow both you and me to see my progress. Enjoy!

Sci-Fi Murder Mystery Book

After finishing the manuscript for The Shackles of a Mountain Lord, I decided that I needed a different sort of story to work on while I was waiting for my beta readers to pick over Shackles. This sci-fi story is a cyberpunk-inspired murder mystery novel that takes place in New London, a city built on the ruins of the London we know today, after the Russian Confederation invaded and annexed all of Northern Europe. In this alternate world, the United States has been turned into a radioactive wasteland, the two superpowers of the world are Russia and China, and the Russian mob dominates New London.

Edits for Shackles of a Mountain Lord

When I get started on editing The Shackles of a Mountain Lord, I’ll post my progress here. Until then, you can read about my projected schedule for the release of Shackles. Stay tuned!
